Amblyopia Types : "SAF-ON"
S - Strabismic amblyopia
A - Anisometropic amblyopia
F - Form vision deprivation
O - Organic amblyopia
N - Nystagmus related amblyopia

Causes of Downbeat Nystagmus: "DoWNBEAT"
D - Degeneration,Demyelination or Drugs (Lithium)
W - Wernicke's Encephalopathy
Neoplasm or paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration
B - Brainstem disease (Syringomyelia)
E - Encephalitis
A - Arnold-Chiari malformation
T - Trauma or Toxin

Characteristics of congenital nystagmus: "CONGENITAL"
C - Convergence & eye closure dampens
O - Oscillopsia absent
N - Null zone that is present,increases foveation time which results in increased acuity
G - Gaze position does not change the horizontal direction of nystagmus
E - Equal amplitude and frequency in each eye
N - Near acuity is good
I - Inversion of optokinetic response
T - Turning of head to acheive null point
A - Abolishes in sleep
L - Latent (occlusion) nystagmus occurs

Describing Nystagmus : "DWARF"
D - Direction : plane of movement-horizontal,vertical
W - Waveform : Pendular or Jerky
A - Amplitude : fine or coarse
R - Rest : At primary position or gaze evolked
F - Frequency : How often the eye moves

Insertion of Recti: "MILS" (spiral of Tillaux)
M - Medial rectus: 5.5 mm
I - Inferior rectus: 6.5 mm
L - Lateral rectus: 6. 9 mm
S - Superior rectus: 7.7 mm

The superior and inferior oblique muscles insert posterior to the equator.

Actions of Eye Muscles : "SIN RAD"
Superior are INtorters & Recti are ADductors.

Physiologic Nystagmus : "LOVE"
L - Latent nystagmus
O - Optokinetic
V - Vestibular
E - Endpoint nystagmus

Squint management : "ROOOP"
R - Refraction
O - Occlusion
O - Orthoptics
O - Operative correction
P - Prism correction
