Complications of Herniorrhaphy :
"HERNIO"
H - Haemorrhage, Haematoma, Haemotocele, Hydrocele
E - Edema (penile edema) - rare
R - Recurrence
N - Neuralgia due to injury to ilioinguinal nerve causing hyperaesthesia over medial side of inguinal canal
I - Infection, Injury to urinary bladder/bowel
O - Osteitis pubis

Fistulas conditions preventing closure :
"FRIEND"
F - Foreign body
R - Radiation
I - Infection/Inflammation (Crohn)
E - Epithelialization
N - Neoplasia
D - Distal obstruction

Melanoma sites:
"Mel SEA"
Melanoma sites, in order of frequency

S - Skin
E - Eyes
A - Anus

Oedema causes generalised :

A - Aldosterone increased/ADH increased

Causes for the inadequate protein in blood are:
I - Intake Inadequate (Kwashiorkor)
S - Secretion fro pancreas decreased (pancreatitis)
S - Synthesis decreased (liver failure)
A - Absorption decreased (Crohn's disease)
V - Vomit (pyloric stenosis)
E - Excretion increased (nephrotic)

VE - VEnous (DVT, chronic venous insufficiency)
