Factors affecting Nasal Cycle: "CREEPED"
Nasal cycle is influenced by

C : Climate
R : Respiration
E : Emotions
E : Excercise
P : Posture
E : Endocrine factors
D : Drugs

Nasal cycle is the physiological cycle of congestion and decongestion occuring alternatingly in the two nasal cavities.

Primary atrophic rhinitis Proposed theories (Etiology) : "HERNIA"
H - Hereditary : May run in families
E - Endocrine : More common in young females
R - Racial : More common in whites
N - Nutritional deficiencies : Vitamin A
I - Infections : Chronic (klebsiella ozanae, diphtheroids)
A - Autoimmune

Endocrine factor: Starts at puberty and stops after menopause

Bilateral ethmoidal polyps: Causes : "Young Andy Fixes CRACK"
Y : Young's syndrome
A : Asthma
F : chronic Fungal sinusitis
C : Cystic fibrosis
R : chronic Rhinosinusitis
A : Aspirin intolerance
C : Churg-Strauss syndrome
K : Kartegener syndrome
Causes of Nasal septal Perforation : "Indian Run-Away Man Lives With Timothy"
I : Idiopathic
R : Rhinolith
A : Abscess
M : Myiasis
L : Lupus, Leprosy
W : Wegeners granulomatosis
T : Trauma
Cluster Headache Clinical features (more common in male): "CLUSTER"
C : Congestion of nose
L : Lacrimation

U : Unilateral head ache as well as Unilateral autonomic dysfunction (viz. ptosis, miosis) Upright position alleviate discomfort (as opposed to napping in a darkened room with migraine headache)

S : Severe excruciating pain Steroid prednisolone as the first line Rx

T : Temporal, orbital or periorbital Pain
E : Every day at the same time (ie. periodicity)
R : Red eye,Rhinorrhoea
Direction of Nasolacrimal: "LLB"
L : low (downwards)
L : laterally
B : backward
Little's area: Arteries : "LEGS"
L : superior Labial artery
E : anterior Ethmoidal artery
G : Greater palatine artery
S : Sphenopalatine artery
The four arteries anastamose at Little's area to form a vascular plexus called Kiesselbach's plexus.
Order of Paranasal Sinuses : "My Extremely Selfish Friend"
Sinusitis Signs & Symptoms : "PH RNTCP"

P : Pain
H : Headache
R : Redness & edema of cheek
N : Nasal discharge
T : Tenderness
C : Constitutional symptoms
P : Postnasal discharge
Types of DNS (Deviated Nasal Septum): "SCAN"
S : S-shaped deformity
C : C-shaped deformity
A : Anterior dislocation
N : Nasal spur
Deviation may involve only the cartilage,bone or both. S-shaped deformity may cause bilateral nasal obstruction.
